About the Doctors

Dennis L. Granberry, DDS, MS

Dr. Dennis L. Granberry established his orthodontic practice in Hattiesburg in 1973. He completed his dental school training at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and earned his Master of Science in Orthodontics from Georgetown University. He has been board certified for over 20 years and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Granberry participates in the United Way, the American Heart Association (past president), Main Street United Methodist Church, Hattiesburg Racquet Club (past president), Area Development Partnership (past board member), Hattiesburg Civic Light Opera (board member), and Just Over the Rainbow Theater (board member). He has lectured at Georgetown University, the Southwestern Tweed Society and county and state professional organizations. He currently serves as teacher/lecturer at the dental hygienist program at Pearl River Community College.

A past president of the Forrest County Dental Association and the Mississippi Society of Orthodontics, and a former board member of the Southern Society of Orthodontics, Dr. Granberry is also active in the Mississippi Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontics, The World Federation of Orthodontics and the Southwestern Tweed Society.

Dr. Granberry enjoys tennis, hiking and big game hunting. An avid thespian, he dotes on his wife, Erin, and his two sons, Lee and Eric.

James S. Henderson, DMD

Dr. James Henderson is from Greenville, Missippi. He received his undergraduate degree from Delta State University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the Wallace V. Mann Award for outstanding achievements in the field of dentistry. He spent the next two years in an orthodontic residency at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry where he received the J. Jerome Hebert Award for outstanding achievement in orthodontics and the James P. Bordelon Memorial Award for clinical excellence in orthodontics.

Dr. Henderson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Mississippi Orthodontic Association. His research was published several times while attending dental school, and he has lectured to the Pine Belt Dental Society. He is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, and a member of the honorary dental society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and the Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi.

Dr. Henderson moved to Hattiesburg in 1997 with his wife of 34 years, Regina, and son Jay, who is now a practicing dentist. He is the attending orthodontist on the Forrest General Hospital Cleft Palate Team. Dr. Henderson sponsors numerous local charities and is an active member of Temple Baptist Church. His hobbies include hunting, hiking, golf, bike riding and supporting the University of Southern Mississippi football and baseball teams.
